Today, a company Kia Motors Slovakia “has employed” the cheerful clowns to guard a production of the millionth produced car directly in the plant for several hours. Since one smile can create thousands of others, so the company decided to bring the smile to the ill children in all regions of Slovakia by donating its jubilee produced car to the civic association Red Nose Clowndoctors. Forty-one professional actors will bring the laugh, well-being and joy to the children in Slovak hospitals regularly also thanks to white cee’d _sw model with a 1.6-liter diesel engine. The company manufactured the millionth car after more than five years. The plant launched a volume production at the end of 2006. Throughout this period the factory has produced the key Kia cee’d model, sporty-utility cars such as Kia Sportage and Hyundai ix35 and the small multipurpose vehicle Kia Venga. The production of Kia cee’d, a unique model designed for European customers and the first model ever produced in the plant, represented more than 600,000 units manufactured from the overall production. Actually the plant prepares for production of its second generation.
“Kia Motors Slovakia has achieved an important milestone in its history with a production of the millionth car. We decided to donate it to an organization which will bring the pleasant moments to children during their stay in hospitals. I believe that the Red Nose Clowndoctors will bring the smile to childrens’ lips,” s aid Eek-Hee Lee, President and CEO of Kia Motors Slovakia. “The health clowns will bring a smile and joy for hospitalized children with this car in whole Slovakia,” said Gary A. Edwards, a founder of the civic association Red Nose Clowndoctors.
Kia Motors Slovakia with the millionth produced car followed the tradition of donation of the jubilee vehicle. The company donated the 500,000th produced car , the Kia cee’d _sw , to the Transplantation centre of the University hospital in Martin , which has been already used for 37 organ collections to enhance the life-quality of more than 95 patients from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy and Belgium until nowadays. As the very first in the history of the Slovak Republic the transplantation centre has performed a collection of the small intestine, meanwhile the team of surgeons coming from Italy has been transported by Kia cee’d _sw model. Mo re than 100 ,000 km have been driven with Kia cee’d _sw which helped to the centre to become the best organ collecting centre in Slovakia .
The civic association Red Nose Clowndoctors has been active since 2004. The cee’d_sw model will enable its clown doctors to make another 90 visits of the hospitals per month and bring the smile to more than 27,000 patients per year by distracting their attention from the anxiety, stress and fear from the medical examinations, therapies or rehabilitation process.
Kia Motors Slovakia recorded a 10% year-on-year increase in car production and a 12% year-on-year increase in engine production in the year 2011, when it produced more than 252,000 cars and 359,000 engines. Furthermore, the factory plans to produce around 285,000 cars this year. Kia Sportage became the most produced vehicle of the year 2011 with m ore than 101,000 produced units which represented 40% of the overall company car production. The employees assembled around 103,000 units of cee’d model, which means 41% of the total production and 11,000 Kia Venga models which means around 4% of production. The rest of production, 36,000 produced units, were represented by Hyundai ix35 manufactured until June 2011. Kia Motors Slovakia launched the third work shift and increased a number of employees up to 3,900 at the beginning of 2012. The company is actually preparing for production of the second generation of the favourite Kia cee’d model which will be produced in the plant during the second quarter of this year.
