The Chairman of Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group visited Slovakia

On September 28, Mr. Mong-Koo Chung, the President of Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group, together with other important executives of Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group visited Slovakia. Mr. Chung arrived to the Bratislava Airport, where he was warmly welcomed by the top executives of Kia Slovakia s. r. o. along with representatives of the Slovak government.

After welcoming at the airport, a visit to the plant in Teplicka nad Vahom followed. Mr. Chung viewed the current status of the construction and gained information about the development of Kia project in Slovakia. After the visit to the site, a meeting was held with Jan Slota, the Mayor of Zilina City.

In the afternoon he came back to Bratislava to meet the Prime Minister, Mikulas Dzurinda and the Minister of Finance, Ivan Miklos, at the official dinner. Mr. Chung informed Mr. Dzurinda about the development of Kia project. They also discussed the increasing interest of other companies that would like to be Kia Slovakia s. r. o. suppliers in the future. The automotive industry in Slovakia would thus employ about 12,000 people. They both agree with the fact that despite some difficulties, the construction of the plant is advancing and the term for launching the production in December 2006 is realistic. The following day, Mr. Chung flew to Ostrava, where he met with the top members of the Czech government. They discussed the investment possibilities of Hyundai in the Czech Republic.
