New President of Kia Motors Slovakia


At the beginning of 2012, Kia Motors Slovakia appointed a new president. Eek-Hee Lee was appointed to the position of President and CEO of Kia Motors Slovakia plant in Teplicka nad Vahom. The former president of the company, Myung-Chul Chung, left the position and will develop his professional career within Hyundai Motor Group in the Republic of Korea. Mr. Lee studied at University of Ulsan, South Korea, and successfully graduated in the field of mechanical engineering in 1979. He started his carrier within Hyundai Group in 1981. After several years he joined the car production plant in Ulsan where he worked as a Director of Production Management until 2004. Throughout the year 2004 Mr. Lee began to work for Hyundai Motor Headquarters as a Director of Strategy Planning and Global Production Management. Before he joined Kia Motors Slovakia, he was a Senior Managing Director and Head of Planning division in Headquarters of Kia Motors. After his rich professional career within Hyundai Motor Group he got an opportunity to use his experience abroad on the position of the President and CEO of Kia Motors Slovakia.

A year 2012 will bring many new positive challenges such as the third-work-shift launch at the beginning of the year; later on the new model volume production as well. My main goal will be to ensure that all teams and departments will do their best to fulfil the key global target of our Hyundai Motor Group to improve the quality to further satisfaction of our customers’ requirements and needs,” said Eek-Hee Lee, President and CEO of Kia Motors Slovakia.
