With effect from 1 January 2023, Mr Geon Won Shin has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Kia Slovakia s. r. o., replacing the current President Mr Seok Bong Kim.
Geon Won Shin began his career at Kia Corporation in 1990. From 2012 to 2016, he led vehicle production at Kia’s manufacturing plant in China. In March 2019, he was appointed Vice President of the Production Division at Kia Slovakia.
“I am very pleased to lead Kia’s unique and modern manufacturing plant in Europe. I will further develop our activities in Slovakia, prepare the plant for the future, increase the efficiency of Ceed and Sportage production, and improve the working environment for our employees,” said Geon Won Shin, the new President and CEO of Kia Slovakia s. r. o.
With effect from 9 January 2023, Mr Uk Jeon will assume the position of Chief Financial Officer of Kia Slovakia s. r. o., replacing the current CFO Mr Tae Jin Kim.
Uk Jeon previously worked in the Investor Relations and Treasury departments at Kia Corporation in South Korea, and later served as Chief Financial Officer of Kia Canada.
