At this year’s Motors Show in Paris (September 30 – October 15), Kia will reveal the all-new Kia cee’d, the five-door hatchback, which is the first model produced at Kia Motors Slovakia’s plant. In addition to five-door cee’d, the cee’d sporty wagon will also be shown in public for the first time in Paris.
The sporty wagon is the second model in the new Kia cee’d family of cars that will be produced at the plant in Slovakia from mid-2007. The sporty wagon has the same 2,650 mm wheelbase as the 5-door hatchback cee’d. However, the total length grows to 4,470 mm and the model is 1,490 mm in height. A first in the C-segment, it features a tailgate shaped like an inverted ‘L’ with its hinges set back over the load area so the tailgate rises almost vertically, giving enhanced access to the large-capacity cargo area that has additional storage below the floor.
When the cee’d sporty wagon goes on sale next September, customers will be offered an extensive choice of five engines, three trim/equipment levels and 12 exterior colours.
