Kia Motors Corporation’s overseas sales have risen by 3.8 % year-on-year to reach 842,526 units in 2006. The largest gain at 6.8 % was achieved in North America. Kia’s best selling model was the C-segment Cerato with 132,392 units sold, closely followed by the A-segment Picanto with 130,169 units sold and the popular Sorento SUV reaching 124,809 units sold.
In 29 European countries, a grand total of 271,261 vehicles were delivered last year. The biggest seller for Kia in Europe during 2006 was the Picanto, with 83,203 units sold, followed by the Sorento SUV (42,051 sales) and the compact 4x4 Sportage (36,887 sales).
