The Open Day at the Kia Motors Slovakia plant attracted more than 25,000 visitors to the factory premises in Teplička nad Váhom. Members of the public as well as employees and their families enjoyed a day full of entertainment, games, music, good food, and various attractions. Highlights included flights of a Black Hawk military helicopter, demonstrations by firefighters and police officers, and a rich music program.
Slovak pop music stars Emma Drobná and Adam Ďurica, the Dutch duo Twenty 4 Seven, who dominated dance floors in the 1990s, as well as energetic performances by talented DJs, got the crowd dancing on two large main stages. Two additional smaller stages were dedicated to children, who found a wide variety of games, building sets, and toys at Kia Open Day. The unforgettable atmosphere was enhanced by opening and closing fireworks, accompanied by a laser and music show.
There was strong interest in guided tours of the production facilities, while Kia Motors Slovakia employees also took to the stage as performers themselves. Applause was earned, for example, by DJ LayDee Sue and the heavy‑metal band Eufory.
