Rafael Nadal, the second best player of the world chart, has become the ambassador of Kia brand. Rafael´s participation at this year´s Australian Open ended in semifinals, when he unexpectedly lost to French Jo-Wilfriedom Tsongom. The Slovak tennis player Daniela Hantuchova also marked a significant success at this tournament, when she secured her position at the top four. Her advancement to the finals was cramped by the Serbian player Anna Ivanovicova, who beat her in semifinals.
On the penultimate day of the 103rd tennis tournament Australian Open, Kia Motors announced an extent of the sponsorship until 2013.
