On Wednesday, January 28, 2009, President of Kia Motors Slovakia In-Kyu Bae officially accepted the international Quality Management System certificate ISO 9001 from Janos Zrupko, Manager of the business unit of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) for Czech and Slovak Republics, which was entitled to the company at the end of last year.
It was affirmed during the certification process by DNV, which took place from October 27 till October 30, 2008, that the Quality Management System at Kia Motors Slovakia is in line with and fulfills the requirements of 9001:2000.
Quality is the priority of Kia Motors Slovakia. It is only natural that Kia Motors has set a goal of becoming the global leader in the field of quality. The company also wants to emerge as a leader with minimum defects in produced vehicles. “In order to achieve our goal, we commit to fulfill the requirements and continuously better the efficiency of the Quality Management System. We closely monitor reactions of our customers based on which we further improve the production process and the quality of our products,” said In-Kyu Bae, President Kia Motors Slovakia.
The automotive group Kia Motors abides by and places big emphasis on global system of quality control. It consists of activities related to a selection of quality suppliers, training and enhancing qualifications of employees, ongoing quality monitoring during the whole production process as well as final vehicle quality.
At the end of each production shop, the quality of the shop’s final product is being checked at Kia Motors production facility in Teplicka nad Vahom. At the same time, every car, prior to a
dispatch to a customer, is tested on a proving ground. By reason of supreme management system and quality control, models cee’d and Sportage are presented to our customers with a 7-year
warranty.
