Hyundai-Kia Chairman visits Slovakia


It has already been more then a year since the Chairman of the Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group Mong-Koo Chung visited Kia Motors Slovakia for the last time. At that time, construction of the plant was finishing and installation of production technology was proceeding. On November 15-16, 2006, he visited Slovakia again aiming to check the preparedness of the plant for launching the mass production in December. The meeting with representatives of the Slovak Government was also part of his visit to Slovakia.

Mong-Koo Chung arrived to the Bratislava Airport at noon on Wednesday, November 15, where he was welcomed not only by Kia Motors Slovakia employees but the representatives of the Slovak Government, Zilina Invest company and SARIO agency as well. After welcoming at the airport, the meeting at the Slovak Republic Government Office followed, where Mong-Koo Chung met with the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, Minister of Economy Lubomir Jahnatek, Minister of Transport Lubomir Vazny, Minister of Construction Marian Janusek and the Mayor of Zilina City Jan Slota. He came to the plant in Teplicka nad Vahom at evening time.

The following day, Mr. Chung experienced the plant tour, testing of the cee’d on the test track and visited two suppliers, Mobis Slovakia and Donghee Slovakia. In the afternoon, he left for Bratislava from where he came back to Korea.
