Car of the Year 2008

In an international contest called European Car of the Year 2008, 36 models were nominated this year. To enter, new cars must have been on sale on at least five different European markets and on each market they must have sold at least 5,000 units of the model.

The Car of the Year award started in 1964 and at that time Rover 2000 was the winner. This year, the winner became Fiat 500 with the highest score and replaced the last year`s winner Ford S-Max.

The jury made up of 58 experts from 22 European countries chose seven finalists from all candidates. Kia cee’d was among the finalists and was awarded the fourth place, which was a great success for us.

Mazda 2 came second, Ford Mondeo third, Nissan Qashqai fifth, Mercedes C-class came sixth and Peugeot 308 came seventh.
