On January 10 – 11, 2006, Kia Motors Europe organized a convention in Bratislava for Kia distributors from almost 40 European countries. A visit of the Kia Motors Slovakia (Kia Slovakia s. r. o.) plant on 11th January was also included in their agenda in Slovakia. More than 100 participants of the event thus had the opportunity to get the latest update on the progress of the Kia Slovakia s. r. o. project in Slovakia.
The event was divided into two parts. The first part took place at the Education & Training Centre of Zilina City with 100 Kia Slovakia s. r. o. employees in attendance at the event. The programme started with the welcome speech by the President of Kia Slovakia s. r. o., Mr. In-Kyu Bae. After welcoming, all the participants watched a short video on the company's history and current progress of the plant’s construction. The official programme continued with the presentation by the Vice-President of the Administration Group & CFO, Mr. Chang-Kyun Han, who introduced Kia Slovakia s. r. o., its vision, strategy and the project schedule.
In the afternoon, the programme for distributors continued with the second, most awaited part of the day, which was a plant tour. In all production shops, distributors viewed the process of production technologies installation. After plant touring, they said their goodbyes and left for Bratislava. All distributors received a special gift, i.e. safety helmet with the name and Kia logo, which will remind them of visiting our plant as well as their participation in the successful fulfilment of Kia’s plans in Europe.
